Day of Stewardship at the Delaware River Watergap

  • Appalachian Mountain Club Outdoor Center 33-49 Camp Mohican Road Hardwick, NJ, 07825 United States (map)

Volunteer with REI, Appalachian Mountain Club (AMC), National Park Service (NPS) and New York-New Jersey Trail Conference (NYNJTC) for our inaugural trail stewardship day at the Del Water Gap N.R.A.

REI and partners invite you to get outside on June 17 to support the vital trail stewardship efforts of these organizations in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. Those who participate will begin their day at the Outdoor Center at 9:30am where volunteers check-in, receive a REI stewardship t-shirt, learn about the project, and are welcomed by the National Park Service.

After check-in, volunteers will promptly head out on the trails near Mohican to work alongside NPS, REI, NYNJTC and AMC to help make the trails safer and more sustainable for hikers and visitors. Please pack a lunch and 2 liters of water. Wear a hat, sunscreen, closed-toe shoes, long pants. After the stewardship project, stick around for fun activities provided by REI's Outdoor School, and gear raffles for some lucky winners!
