Madeline Urbish, Director
Madeline (Maddy) Urbish joined the Coalition as its Director in 2015. Prior to her position with the Coalition, Maddy worked for a consulting firm in Washington D.C. specializing in water resources and worked for a U.S. Representative from California. Maddy also spent several years managing coalitions in the greater Trenton area while working at The College of New Jersey, and worked for a New Jersey State Assemblywoman prior to her tenure at the College. Maddy holds two Bachelor of Arts degrees in Political Science and History from The College of New Jersey and earned a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Pennsylvania's Fels Institute of Government.
Madeline Emde, Conservation Associate
Madeline Emde joined the Coalition in 2014 as Conservation Associate. Prior to her position with the Coalition, Madeline worked as a Program Assistant for the Bureau of Endangered Resources at the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources. Madeline holds a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from The College of New Jersey and a Master of Science degree in Water Resources Management from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Madeline is a Senior Fellow of the Environmental Leadership Program's 2016 Delaware River Watershed Network.
Rita Yelda, Outreach & Communications Manager
Rita Yelda joined the Coalition in 2017 as Outreach & Communications Manager. Rita has previously held positions at Planned Parenthood of Northern, Central, and Southern NJ/Planned Parenthood Action Fund of NJ, Environmental Advocates of NY/EPL, Family Support Line, and Food & Water Watch in New York and New Jersey. Her professional background includes developing and implementing plans for nonprofit communications and issue advocacy. Rita holds a B.A. in Sociology, Minor in Environment & Society, and a B.S. in Fashion & Textile Technology from SUNY Buffalo State.
Katharina Miguel, Project Coordinator
Katharina Miguel joined the Coalition in 2017 as Project Coordinator. She began her career in environmental protection as a policy and outreach intern at the New Jersey League of Conservation Voters. She has previously conducted field research in the Philippines and has partnered with the co-producer of Antarctic Edge: 70° South to create a documentary presenting the current impacts of climate change. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Political Science from Rutgers University, and spent time recruiting volunteers for international community development projects while in school.
