Kelly Knutson (he/him), Director
Kelly Knutson leads on federal policy, strategic vision, and diverse partnerships throughout the four basin states. Kelly joined the Coalition in April of 2019 as State Policy Manager and transitioned to the role of Director in September 2021. Trained as a biologist, Kelly has spent his professional career advancing science-based policies to stakeholders, communities, and lawmakers to ensure that evidence-driven solutions are at the foundation of constituent advocacy and legislative strategy. Kelly holds a Bachelor of Arts from Concordia College in Minnesota.

Meagan Schaefer (she/her), Outreach and Communications Manager
Meagan Schaefer joined the Coalition as Outreach and Communications Manager in June 2021. Before joining the team, Meagan had been with the Urban Affairs Coalition as Community and Economic Development Program Coordinator where she worked to bring capital to communities by building bridges between low to moderate income areas and mainstream financial institutions to ensure the stability, growth, and vitality of the Philadelphia Region. Meagan earned a Bachelor's degree in Geography from Rowan University and a Master's degree in City & Regional Planning from Temple University, where she focused on Sustainable Community Development and Environmental Planning.
Maria Castro (she/her), Member & Events Coordinator
Maria joined the Coalition in February 2023 as Member & Events Coordinator. Maria comes to the organization from ACV Enviro where she coordinated transportation and waste management projects. Maria holds a BS in Mathematics with a concentration in Chemistry from Montclair State University. During her undergraduate, Maria interned as a research associate in various environmental research projects.
