(TRENTON, NJ) July 12, 2023 - New Jersey's fiscal year 2024 budget reaffirms its strong support for the Delaware River Basin Commission (DRBC), as the state honors its full "fair share" commitment of $893,000.

Once Again New York’s Budget Fails to Fully Support the Delaware River Basin Commission

Albany, NY (May 4, 2023) — Governor Kathy Hochul signed the Fiscal Year 2024 budget on Tuesday, notably falling short of New York’s commitment to fully fund the Delaware River Basin Commission (DRBC) at the State’s agreed upon amount of $626,000. Instead, New York will fund the DRBC at just over 50% of the agreed upon full fair-share, $359,500, the same level since 2015.

Building off success of the federal spending bill recently signed into law by President Biden — that included a significant increase of $11.5 million in funding for the region — Senator Tom Carper (D-DE), Representative Lisa Blunt Rochester (D-DE), and Representative Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA) took another major step forward in protecting the drinking water, state wildlife, and restoration sites across the watershed by introducing the bipartisan Delaware River Basin Conservation Reauthorization Act (DRBCA). 

TTF Watershed Partnership receives Growing Greener Grant to improve stormwater management at Congregation Adath Jeshurun in Elkins Park, Montgomery County

Philadelphia, PA ( January 20, 2023)- Tookany/Tacony-Frankford Watershed Partnership, Inc. (TTF) is proud to announce it was awarded a $260,788 2022 Growing Greener grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PA DEP) for a stormwater retrofit project at Congregation Adath Jeshurun (AJ) in Elkins Park, Montgomery County. This watershed improvement project is one of ten Growing Greener projects in the Southeast Region that were awarded a total of $2,119,504 to aid in protecting waterways and watersheds.

10th Annual Delaware River Watershed Forum Unites Conservation Organizations, Advocates in Philadelphia  

Philadelphia, PA — The Coalition for the Delaware River Watershed (CDRW), staffed by New Jersey Audubon and executed in partnership with National Wildlife Federation, held its 10th Annual Delaware River Watershed Forum in Philadelphia, PA, on Thursday, November 3rd and Friday, November 4th. Over 275 people attended, bringing together organizations and individuals spanning the four Delaware River Watershed states of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, and New York, to collaborate and build capacity for environmental conservation.

They highlighted millions of dollars of additional federal and state investments over the past year that will improve water quality in the region and called on Congress to act quickly to pass important legislation that will further protect the drinking water of millions in our region.
