Please join Brodhead Watershed Association for an educational event!

Why are insect hatches coming earlier? Why are my trees and shrubs flowering at unusual times?

Participants will get answers to these questions and other issues related to phenology – the science that measures the timing of life cycle events in plants, animals, and microbes, and detects how the environment influences the timing of those events – at this event!

The event will be held at Brodhead Creek Heritage Center, 1539 Cherry Lane Road, Analomink, Pa.

Sponsored by Brodhead Watershed Association and the Brodhead chapter of Trout Unlimited, the event will feature speaker Dr. Diane Husic, dean of natural science at Moravian College. Husic will speak about the regional effects of climate change and the Eastern Pennsylvania Phenology Project, a citizen science undertaking to help collect observations of changes occurring in our natural world.

A brief membership meeting of the local Trout Unlimited chapter will begin at 7 p.m., with Husic’s presentation to follow. The public is invited to attend both the meeting and presentation.
This event is the second in BWA’s Climate Change speaker series.

The event is free; registration is not required. For information, email info@brodheadwatershed.org or call 570-839-1120.
