Clean water is essential for all people and vital for our national parks. Want to speak up in defense of clean water? Come out Aug. 24th for an advocacy event.

The EPA is trying to repeal the widely supported Clean Water Rule, a federal regulation that clarifies which waters are protected under the Clean Water Act, and replace it with a weaker rule that would roll back decades of progress. Dismantling the Clean Water Rule puts people, wildlife and national parks at serious risk. There is simply no reason to jeopardize the health of our parks and the drinking water for millions of people.

Thursday’s comment-writing workshop, a collaborative effort between NPCA, United By Blue and our clean water partners, gives us all the chance to make a difference. We will urge the EPA to maintain a strong Clean Water Act and uphold its duty to protect the health of our waters.

The Clean Water Rule took nearly a decade to develop, after extensive engagement with the public, scientists, community leaders, farmers, ranchers, hunters, anglers and state and local governments. I hope you will join the #bluemovement and let your voice be heard.

WHERE: United By Blue flagship store, 144 N. 2nd St., Philadelphia, PA 19106 (We recommend taking public transportation as street parking is scarce, though nearby parking garages are available.)

WHO: NPCA, United By Blue, clean water partners and YOU! Please invite anyone else who cares about clean water.

OTHER: Light refreshments will be provided. In addition to the advocacy opportunity, this event will celebrate United By Blue’s recent milestone of removing 1 millions pounds of trash from American waterways. The store will be offering 15% off all merchandise during the event.
